I bought Skyrim when it was released in 2011, since then I have logged in hundreds if not thousands of hours playing it and I never once put a single point into lockpicking.

i remember being 9 and finding the elven shortsword in dragonsreach that was locked behind a master lock, i was so bad at lock picking that i spent like 2 hours trying to open it 😭

I literally don't upgrade my lockpicking skill at all. if your careful, patient and have more then a few lockpicks. you honestly can unlock any lockpick lock in the entire game.

the sweet spots have specific spots they can be and you can use the scratches on the lock to keep track of them.

well one game you use actual lockpicks the other you use Bobby pins so yeah it makes sense why you can unlock harder locks at lower skill level in Skyrim because you're using the proper tool to do it

There was one point where I had used up every single one of my lock picks so every time I got one I would savor it so there was one point where I skipped the master chests

Too bad they got rid of that feature in FO3. You could keep spamming a lock in the older games, only issue is that door locks could break and that some locks required a special device.
