As someone who has a degree in history, this is insane talk. Yes, it wasn’t great for women, yes there was hella misogyny, but there were also plenty of women who had a lot of power (via their husbands, granted). It’s giving evangelical conservatives who want an idealized version of women as homemakers and no abortions despite actual evidence, hon!
