Twins on the 11th and 2nd centile are very small and are not growing as they should be. I can see where the concern from your doctor is coming from and urgency regarding delivery soon. Please don’t trust everything you see on social media regarding twins going full term, everyone has different birth stories/ circumstances and every individual birth can be so different

Mom of three here! I’ve had 3 csections (1 emergent) and I can promise you an elective csection is so much calmer and safer and easier to heal from than an emergency csection. Best of luck with whatever you choose tho!

Get a 2nd opinion, but in the end trust the doctors. better safe than sorry. some decisions can't be reversed so just do what is safe for you and the babies.

I would be concerned about the girlie being in the 2nd percentile, especially with twinies. I’d seek a second opinion ASAP to go through options/potential risks of either route xx

A sonographer DOES NOT have the same knowledge or qualifications as a consultant. Listen to your consultant.

Hi Emily, always remember it’s your choice cause it’s your pregnancy but also remember doctors learn for many years how to better help the patients. It’s always better to get a second opinion if you didn’t like the specialist you saw especially since this is an important moment in your life. The important thing is always your wellbeing and your children’s :)

there is no hero badge for giving birth naturally. Some of us just can’t, a c-section is OK.

Hi! As a sonographer those percentiles are scary and not good! It means the babies are definitely both small and might need to come earlier because they will grow better on the outside !

At the 2nd and 11th percentile I would be listening to the medical professional on this. Get your second opinion but I do think she was correct in her concerns

my twins were an emergency c - section, born 32w + 3d, i would definitely get a c-section again for every child in the future. In my case, one of my babies were very poorly and had undiagnosed tetralogy of fallot. get every opinion possible and ultimately it’s YOUR choice. You’ve got this. 🤍

Where did you get your shirt from? Also doesn’t hurt to go to another clinic with better ultrasounds

You are a strong mama! I had one baby and they told me he was measuring much smaller and that my placenta was restricting growth! He was delivered and past all his test with flying colors! Don’t always believe them! They would rather cut you open then take the time to do all that extra work!! Fight for your momma that and intuition! You are so strong

I had a c section with my twins they were born at 32weeks gestation one weighing 3 pound and one weighing 3 pound 7 I was always told mine were measuring small, they came out completely perfect just small, they are nearly 8 now and are perfectly healthy, I was also told one of my twins had a disability which I had as a child from what they saw on the scan yet she came out completely healthy, get a second opinion I wish I did because I was so stressed being told one of my girls had a disability but she actually didn’t 🫶

2% is really small lovely. I would listen to the consultant. Please take their advice. Sonographers are not as qualified x

These scans can also be incredibly wrong I was told my daughter (born same year as Reggie) was abnormally small percentile too and she came out 9 pounds on her due date! I would get a second opinion & maybe even another scan! I think be weary but don’t make all your decisions based off one opinion babe! I’d also question why a small % means you need a c section? I’m not educated on this but if anything I’d think it make it easier for babe to make it through the birth canal being smaller? if the point is to have them sooner because the placenta isn’t working why can’t you be induced why does it have to be a c section? X

Please listen to your medical professionals, the only thing that matters is getting your babies here safely. My twins were very early and tiny and they told me c section was the only way and they both got here safely, I don’t regret a thing.

Why are you going off other people’s pregnancy experiences online rather then real professional opinion? Of course people have been giving birth for centuries but c sections are also around for a reason.

Babe 2% is really small and important to take seriously. If you’re feeling less movement and growth is shopping, I’d be going for that c section really soon. Twin pregnancies are different and riskier for a reason sometimes. I know it sucks to not have your ideal birth but pls go get another opinion and scan and take care of yourselves. Ask them to explain it better to you x

Sooo you’re doubting a doctor who also gave you legit websites to further your knowledge, but will listen to TikTok comments and videos of other pregnant women who are in a DIFFERENT situation. And how do you know this is “not the only option”?

I no this sounds awful but do you think you have some trauma with Reggie that you are then really trying to prove to yourself that you “can do it”? I mean maybe I’ve got it wrong but that’s kind of how it seems which really shouldn’t be the case cos you done amazing with your first and you’re doing an amazing job with the twinnies just keep an open mind and remember these people (most of the time) are professionals and know best they just want to keep you all safe 💕💕

Having twins is already considered a higher-risk pregnancy, so I’d trust the doctor on this one. Better safe than sorry
