I disagree with this, majority of single parents who have their children full time do get benefits, rent paid, council tax, UTC top ups etc, what I do agree with the other parent should be paying set amount per child, the CMS does need a revamp its unfair both sides in different circumstances.

Here is another test. Can the parent who has the children survive on the income they would have left if they were the child maintenance payer? In other words, could they realistically live on their income after deducting the amount they believe child maintenance should be, as well as child-related and disability benefits (where applicable), Council Tax Reduction, Universal Credit, and any other discounts, top-ups, or financial support they receive?

Put it this way, I have 2 children of my own and since I’ve had them not one single one of my bills have gone up! CMS shouldn’t be to pay bills it should be for clothes etc and I can categorically tell you I do not spend £70 per week on each of my children 😂

And what is the paying parent expected to live off when they have 3 nights a week (not allowed 50/50 as receiver would lose cms). So they pay £300+ in cms, then are responsible to equally cover bills, housing, food, clothing, clubs etc on their time? Therefore forcing the paying parent to struggle despite having all the same costs?

Yeah My Husband could Live on what He pays . Unfortunately that is because the CMS system is corrupt . The only way to fix child support system is to make a One set payment per child regardless of what that parent earns . It shouldn't be your child's worth £7 per month and mine is worth £200 a month just cause he works hard to patch the difference.

Report to inland revenue. Also CMS have a fraud dept. They can access their bank accounts, property etc. They did to my ex.
