For so long black men talks so much crap about dark skin black women when they bringing up colorism or favoritism toward light skin . It’s in the music , on tv , etc everywhere . Dark skin women were told it doesn’t exist and they are just jealous of lighter skin for decades . A lot of Black men have yet to do the work to unlearn , reverse the affects in the community. So it does feel like a derail in the conversation . Even though some black men have done the work internally and want to talk about their experiences. It doesn’t heal the the long history of gaslighting. A lot of black women are still hurting and trying to recover that’s why it’s probably not well received . Collectively we have so much work to do . Everyone is hurting

We have to have all the conversations simultaneously! We should be able to make room for each other’s experiences. Listening to one another doesn’t invalidate anyone else’s struggles. We can acknowledge that our experiences may be different while still supporting each other imo!!
