Paying the birthday celebration off in full instead of letting it ride is the part most people skip — celebrating AND protecting the score at the same time. What made that possible for me was setting aside a little "fun fund" in the months before, so when the statement came the money was already sitting there waiting for it.

Regardless on your spending, you should not have a limit. This is wild. This is also telling that your spend does not justify the annual fee.

I have a feeling this happens on your first month. I had a balance of 2k and it gave me this warning, now I average 3k-4k a month and the warning never shows up.

It doesn’t sound like you carry balances but that’s typically what they do to people who are not paying off their card in full. I would call them, I’ve never seen that on an account with them that’s kept current. Most peoples present spending limits are quite high. It makes me think something is wrong.
