@damebandofficial: GREAT DAMES PT.3 - Mathurine de Vallois 🤡 Whoever said women can’t be funny obviously hasn’t done their homework! The role of a jester has always intrigued me… They would be the only person alive who was allowed to ever say anything bad about the monarchy to their face! In fact it was almost expected!!! There is not much out there on this woman, and little to nothing is known about her roots and personal life, but if these tales are true, then she must have been one of a kind! I read her jokes and quips to myself and actually laughed out loud… to have your jokes last centuries… who knows what she would be doing if she were alive in our era… SNL perhaps? Gonna cover some other lady jesters as well- if you have any suggestion- but this one took the cake for me! Think I’ll add her to my live DAME show!
