It’s interesting because biblically it sounds like people are cast out of the final city but can still go into it on set dates etc. so it makes it sound like or is inferred there’s still a hope and a plan for the people outside so to speak

when i (raised pentacostal) was a freshman in high school, I went to a high school girls Bible study with a friend at her Lutheran church lead by the youth pastor's wife and some other random lady. the book they chose was revelation. wild choice for teen girls. the topic of heaven came up and seeing loved ones again. we were told that we wouldn't care about the people around us because our only focus would be worshipping God. we lost a classmate later that year. I struggled with a "lack of faith" all my life because I worried about everything, but this messed me up. what kind of cruel God would give his creations freewill, make them suffer loss, and reward their loyalty with shitty mind control for eternity?
