@movingwithmimi: Getting up from the couch without using your hands is a simple way to challenge your leg strength and balance. If it’s difficult today, don’t avoid it—practice it. Little improvements can make everyday life easier. Can you do it? #Over60Fitness #SeniorFitness #MobilityForSeniors #HealthyAging #FunctionalFitness

71 and I can do it drunk. I do various 30 minute exercise routines 3 times a week that feature a lot of core strengthening moves designed for seniors.

The test is that you have to do it for 30 seconds. If you can do 20-30 you’re good. If you’re less than you might have issues

I've had bad knees for years. Fibromyalgia over 30 years & I'm 65. I started working out, wall sits & calf raises with other knee strengthening exercises. I now get up from the floor no hands. Getting up no hands is making my knees stronger. My motto, use it or lose it. 💪

People in the comments,....many people take this move for granted. As you get older, and don't exercise resistance training, you'll understand the importance of leg maintenance. Laugh as you will, but my mother almost couldn't get out of the bathtub at the age of 70
