I think thats the thing with one piece as a show its from a different era. where tv shows were ment air continuously. its been running week to week for 27 years. a lot of the pacing issues comes from that need to put out and episode next week. witch is why im happy they are moving to a sesonal approach now. but I have no issues with what your brought up with g8 and long ring G8 is just really good filler but still filler id almost treat g8 as one of the early one peice moives. a fun ride if you love the characters but with nothing substantial. and long ring I could try and defend if but better people have tried and failed. sad to hear you reverting back to your early one peice days but its understandable. I hope water 7 reignights some appreciation for the show.

I told you to skip g8 and said long ring wasn’t that important. If you aren’t invested after Enie’s Lobby, you don’t have a heart. It’s the arc where Robin truly joins the Straw Hat crew and where you learn the cruelty of the World Government. I hope your cynicism is cut through by the emotional scenes you experience.

I’ll say this much… Water 7/Ennies Lobby made me from somewhat liking One Piece to understanding the love for it both story and character wise so I would agree that this arc SHOULD BE your final decision if to continue or not it is the peak of character moments for a big chunk of the crew
