The pump doesn’t shut off when the flap goes down like that anyways. That’s not how gas pumps work. It’s literally backwards. If they used something to stop the flap from being pushed all the way in, then yeah, that might work, but this? No. What happened? It probably had something fail with the flap mechanism and the owner was being too cheap to replace the part. This isn’t going to scam anyone.

I saw a petroleum technician talking about this and it’s a three cent fix for a $300 problem to replace the entire assembly of where that little flap is is basically taking off that entire black plastic piece and just replacing it that little screw it helps the little helper spring that’s supposed to keep the flap at a certain position in order for it to read that the pump is actually out if the flap over extends, it will cancel back and think you just put the pump back
