@pbsnews: Throughout the United States’ 250-year history, as the nation grew from a series of small, rebel colonies into a global superpower, it’s taken some bold, transformative steps on the world stage. The U.S. has also stumbled at times. On this anniversary, guest host William Brangham asked Esther Brimmer, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a former assistant secretary of state during the Obama administration, if President Donald Trump has irreversibly changed the state of U.S. foreign policy. Brimmer noted that although the U.S. has created some “real concerns” about the long-term commitment to its alliances, there was going to be a “transition” between the U.S. and its allies where the balance between the two needed “to change.” Compass Points from PBS News analyzes prominent international affairs topics and America’s role in a shifting world, breaking down global conflicts, rising tensions, and their implications for U.S. interests. Everyone, the most reliable ways to stay informed politically is to read the congressional voting record. It’s less about rhetoric and more about actions. Those voting archives are like report cards, they show what lawmakers actually supported, and those decisions become the laws that affect our everyday lives. That’s why I always vote for Democrats and Progressive Democrats. When you look at their congressional voting history, they are always supporting laws that benefit us.💙 don’t forget all the great laws that the Biden administration passed too!
