White couldn't be controlled because the writer thought that he's just a hollow and Muramasa can only control zanpakuto spirits. Same reason why he was able to control the old man Zangetsu

I would say the only thing I hated about this arc is that it didn't feel like it could fit anywhere in the timeline, with the other filler arcs they at least had a placement that kinda made since. with this you can't put it anywhere chronologically

fun fact: this arc IS canon due to a flashback from Byakuya vs As Nodt where it showed his fight with Koga. Also, this arc introduced Sasikibe zanpaktou ability way before we knew what it did until the tybw arc.

I will always stand on the opinion that there is no bad Bleach filler, just waaay too much. I think the arcs add to the canon characters and world nicely, they are generally good stories within themselves, and a lot of the filler villains are fantastic.

Oh yeah no, this Zanpaktou Rebellion arc is crucial to understand TYBW, when Ichigo’s Zanpaktou was reforged. So glad I never skipped any fillers while watching Bleach, no matter how dumb some of them truly were.
