this is just dumb. Older appartment conplexes doesnt have ac's but every single modern house does. I havent seen house thats been built past decade and a half that doesnt have atleast one ac unit...

Some summer days in Chongqing last year were well over 100 F with a crazy “feels like” around 118 F some days. No freak out. Just “normal” life there and people dealt with it.

In an average Chinese household, there are three bedrooms plus a living room. The living room usually has a floor-standing AC unit, while each bedroom has a wall-mounted one. So most families have at least two air conditioners, and they don’t really worry much about electricity bills.
