Firefighter paramedic here…..Another thing to consider is regular bicycle helmets are only rated and tested for 10-20 mile an hour bikes and impacts…. E bikes go so much faster. Kids should be wearing a full motorcycle type helmet rated for higher speed impacts for full protection if they are going to ride them.

so many are angry at NJ's new law, but THIS is why we have it. as of today (July 1st) ebikes, escooters, and motorbikes are 15 and older, mandatory e-vehicle permit or driver's license, and mandatory helmet for ALL.

Australia just introduced tough laws around E bikes & E Scooters - with most states banning them for under 16yo’s ! Hoping we (New Zealand) follow soon 🤞🏻

State of Illinois is close to passing a law that 16 and older can use e-scooters and e-bikes. It also needs to be registered and the person must have a valid license. Hopefully this is a step to avoid more accidents.
