@justmom9: Let this be your reminder. Blow up flotation devices are NOT permitted at Salmon Cove. The currents are soooo strong. This mom, dad and child are so lucky…. Major thank you to the girl in white (she was a trained lifeguard) for grabbing the life preserver and jumping in right away!! July 1 2026, Canada Day!!
Is the ban on floatation devices something new? When we were there a year or two ago I had one on myself, but as a near 40 year old man, I had it as a fashion accessory to compliment my Hawaiian shirt and novelty bottle.

I'll never understand how we're born and raised on a island surrounded by the ocean and people still think the ocean isn't scary.

As someone who works the other side of these with cost guard, it happens more than you’d think, and it’s terrifying!

I wish they would post warning signs about this so people would stop and actually think before doing. Common sense should tell you not to go into the ocean in a blow up. These people are so lucky!

I witnessed this happen at northern bay sands, a little kid got swept out. me and two other people swam out to him, I couldnt get out to him, as soon as I hit the cold water it hit me and I didn't want ro chance getting stuck out myself, but the other ones managed to get out to the child, it was terrifying
