My doctor never warned me about the side effects of missing a dose. I feel so delusional and weird. Like Im in slow motion and glitching out. Then comes the nausea and crying. Then flu symptoms. I don’t know how I’ll ever get off it. 😢

Venlafaxine is my necessary evil. It’s literally saved my life. I deal with the side effects happily to prevent dealing with withdrawal and re-entering that darkness.

My doctor didn’t think I needed to be weened of Effexor just swapped it with Wellbutrin. I let her know to not do that to the next patient

After reading all these comments maybe I am the only one that loves my dose. Yeah I sweat a lot and need to take it regularly (like most meds) but it has saved my life anxiety wise. Id rather be sweaty and be able to deal with my issues than be not sweaty and never leave my house.

I really like my Venlafaxine. I was on Lexapro before I was having migraines nearly every day and my heat intolerance was miserable living in Las Vegas where summers cam be 120° and I'm feeling ill at even 80°. I did have some horrible jaw pain for about 6 months, but suddenly that just went away and I'm fine. Yeah, I sweat a lot and it sucks, but I'm not suicidal, mostly not depressed, anxiety is manageable and migraines are maybe 10 per month TOPS (does run in my family). Also, I can sit in my 130° car and it kinda feels good. Sweaty, but pleasant. Could not say that last year. Entire summers felt like slow death.

After 8 years of medication therapy trying just about every SSRI on the planet, I was prescribed venlafaxine. It changed my life. The lowest dose of venlafaxine had me feeling better than the highest dose of any SSRI I had ever tried. I’ve been on it almost ten years now, at 300mg/day. The brain zaps are insanely debilitating, but oddly helpful because it causes me to not forget my med.

Effexor saved my life. I would not be here without it. I went off it for 6 months after tapering and completely melted down to the point of collapsing in public from panic. TAKE IT IF IT HELPS
