As an Australian, Australia unfortunately has a VERYYY similar history to Canada. Always listen to and empower indigenous voices and communities, always was always will be their land. Always stay educated ❤️🩹❤️🩹

As a Residential School survivor...I truly respect you personally for educating yourself and using yoir platform to spread this awareness to Non indigenous people's on this and other platforms you have. Thank you for being a great and wonderful ally to this entire awareness you are spreading.
My whole family, great grandparents, grandparents, parents, uncles, aunties, brothers and sisyers have all went to these schools! I know they appreciate this as well coming from Paradise I'm sure of it.

As a Metis who had to grow up with parents and grandparents who were in residential schools, thank you. I cannot possibly explain how it affected me but I continue moving forward none the less.

You’re absolutely on the mark! Great video Kai. I’m sure there are a lot of your followers who have no idea of this tragic part of our history… Gord Downey had given some great light to the community, but it’s crazy how quiet it is kept.

I took Aboriginal studies my first year of high school. It was a great aid to me, both educating me culturally, and generally helping with social studies. When I tried to take it for grade eleven, I was told there were too few kids so it would be an online course. It’s tragic that I couldn’t properly continue with that course, as much of it was oral discussion. Around that time my school would talk about how they work so hard to empower indigenous voices.

Thank you for speaking about this. I only learned about a lot about this history last year--I'm about to be 31 and I'm a white passing indigenous woman myself. My heart breaks for my ancestors but doing what you're doing is encouraging and appreciated 🙏🏻
