This was one of the most emotional moments of my life realizing that I actually might survive after months of being so close to death from malnutrition from SMAS, gastroparesis, Visceroptosis, and dysmotility. I can remember telling my parents over and over that all I wanted was to go on hospice so it would all be over. I felt like there was nothing left of me. I just wanted a way out. My days were spent unable to eat or drink, vomiting non stop, unable to use the bathroom, barely able to stand up, and in 10/10 pain. My body was so close to giving up on me, so much so, that I was scared I wouldn't wake up when I went to sleep at night. Sadly, this is so many of our realities with vascular compression syndromes! We need more research, we need better treatments, we need more surgeons who can help, and we need more hope! I feel so lucky to be doing better now, but had I not advocated for myself and begged surgeons to help me I wouldn't be here. If this is your fight right now, I just want you to know that I see you, and you're not alone. Don't give up💔🫂
