I celebrate because I'm grateful to live here. I've seen the country make an effort to better represent our Indigenous peoples over the last few years. it's not enough...but it's a start. I hold onto hope for the future, and I will always hold space to listen to the stories, and respect the beautiful cultures I hope can be rebuilt

Not only in Canada but also in Europe. My great grandfather was a Siberian Inuit man.. taken to residential school and then to 1st world war.. he survived and married a non Indigenous lady my great grandma.. his spirit always stayed with me and guided me through hard times 💗
