A lot of people don't realise that swarovski crystals are a man made crystal product - much like crystal glassware. They are not precious stones. It is expensive costume jewellery. And you'll find if you look at big fashion brands (outside of the jewellery houses like Tiffany and cartier, or high tier fashion like chanel) they also don't use diamonds, they are all crystal embedded costume jewellery, often gold plated too. Fashion branded jewellery is made this way because they come and go with the seasons, S/S, A/W releases every 6-12 months.
