💚💚💚 There is the Oak Savanna in Kiwanis Park, Brookfield, IL. It's one of my favorite places besides Riverside, IL for old 🌳 trees. Does checking the age, if done correctly, do damage to the trees?

I heard on NPR that these trees are often referred to as Witness Trees, since their life span has witnessed history. The tree in the story was about a tree just outside Abraham Lincoln’s home in Springfield, IL.
