My company is not in 7 or 50 and it’s still using AI for screening your resume, it’s happening everywhere more than you think.

Can you talk a little about timelines on the hiring side? I’ve had a few applications that I can track showing “application received” or “in process” for a few weeks now. They’re with large companies, senior mgr roles. Not overly concerned, more curious.

It doesn’t matter if it’s AI or ATS, the system is broken. We cannot get past the software.

in ontario, canada, companies must disclose if AI is used during the process and most mid size or larger company is using AI to help with screening. for example, governments are using SAPSF but not using AI, whereas other companies are disclosing the use of AI with sapsf... i was literally auto rejected from a position the friday night it was posted with an ats friendly resume in a role that i was perfectly suited for :/ my only assumption is they messed up auto rejections because come monday morning the roll was reposted and filled within 2 months.

Does the competition itself mean your Resume/CV isn’t telling your best story out of all the other applicants who applied, so their story is a better match with what they desire? Or is it the number of experience one has mostly? I managed to get myself a job after 7 months, but it’s ad-hoc work, so I’m not officially an employee yet. I’m still searching and documenting my CV

What about the lawsuit against workday? I feel like most of the big companies use workday.

Its not cheap. I worked on a AI recruitment tool for a specific client. The product did a keyword search, but there was the aspect of turning AI portion on where it went beyond reading keywords and based on your history could tell if you were qualified to screen people out. It needed to be trained to work out the kinks but companies if they have enough money to create are using AI.

I think we’re mixing two separate issues. Workday and ATS platforms are software, but employers decide how those systems are configured. Years ago, if you matched 80% of a job, you might get an interview. Now many companies set the criteria so high that if you don’t match nearly 100%, you’re filtered out before a recruiter even sees your application. AI may not make the final hiring decision, but it’s absolutely influencing who gets considered.
