This needs to go viral...or at least this mindset, recently a SAHM, and the amount of money I've SAVED because we just don't need everything brand new. Maybe bought everything brand new because I could afford it while working, but I'm loving the second hand vibe I have going on! Life isn't that expensive if you're patient and don't need everything immediately

Sometimes I get so discouraged when I hear people just go to Walmart or Target and spend money to just spend money on things they want versus need. But then I am reminded that I took a huge paycut to work at a school and be on my kid's schedule. This was the best thing I've ever done for myself and my kids. And I would never go back. Ever.

Just fyi this is not how all SAHMs live. I love tent camping etc but I do get my hair cut when I need nails etc. I do what I want I guess I dunno…

I love this, and I agree with everything you said! I think it’s different for everyone though. You have very expensive sunglasses on, but a bed frame that’s on the ground. I won’t spend more than $5 on a pair of sunglasses, but would have to find a new bed frame. 😂 And maybe the glasses were second hand. My point is that this mindset can be altered to fit your own taste. Spend where you wanna spend and save where you wanna save.

We love Jellystone in Warrens WI! We do have a camper but it is a 2009. Not fancy by any means but we use the shit out of it! I’m huge into thrifting and gifting others things I don’t need.
