the assisted pull-up machine has done NOTHING for me. i’ve started doing inverted pull up every time im at the gym, regardless of what im training that day. i’ve gone from where you’re at, to doing about 1/2 a pull up in about 3 weeks. doing negatives as slow as possible is helping me with the upper half of the pull up

I started rock climbing. I randomly tried to do a pull up one day and I could do 10. I was like oh I didn’t know I could do all of these lol

Everyone’s not lying about inverted pull ups. I did them until one day I randomly wanted to try out a pull up and was shocked I could do one 😭

I mean I genuinely don’t think I could just hang there so I don’t think you’re at zero! 👏👏

Dead hangs and scapular pull-ups every day, lat pull downs at the gym. I started trying last year, couldn’t do 1 pull up. I can now do 7 in a row and try for 14 total everyday. Some days I get zero. Just keep trying and stay consistent 🙌🏻💪🏻

Do lat pull downs until you can pull your weight and then try a pull up.

I promise you, if you just attempt to do one every day for 3 months and train upper body like normal, you will get it easy

If you do negatives as slow as possible every other day you can build it up pretty quick!

The fact that you can dead hang for a decent amount of time and also do the scapula raise a little bit… I think you’ll eventually get a pull up sooner than you think!

the fact you can hang means you have a head start from some others ✨

I saw a video of a trainer working with someone who couldn't do a pull-up and they told them to change their grip and like touched the muscles they're supposed to be using and they actually could do a pull-up, they just didn't know how to. it might be a specific skill thing or activating the right muscles. I don't do pullups so I can't speak from experience

use a lat pulldown machine to build up some upper body strength then i'll just naturally be able to do pull ups

I started using the bands to assist my pull ups like this on that same machine at my gym. Try using the thickest band and see if it helps.

🩷 :
As someone who can do 16, STAY AWAY FROM THE ASSISTED MACHINE. Instead, do lat pull downs, rows, negatives, dead hangs, hold at the top of the bar for as long as you can.
