i have a step dad and step grandpa but was raised with both and they both have diabetes and for years i put i was at risk for diabetes on my family paperwork bc i forgot i wasn't blood related to either of them 😭

I explained to my sister (who is my half-sister) that I had depression since my father had it and it's genetic in a lot of cases. She asked if she can "get it" too. we don't have the same bio father

I always joke with my boys saying how lucky they are they got their Dad’s height (6’ 3”) and not mine (4’ 11”) as they’re still teens and almost 6’ and then remember they’re both adopted so our heights have nothing to do with it 😂😂😂

I was in the hospital due to a cancer complication and the doctor was asking me if there’s any kidney disease in my family and my STEP dad (who raised me) answered about his mom needing a kidney from him and my mom had to be like “sweetie, they mean biological family” and he was like oh… so sweet 🥺

my mom did this!!my mom adopted me! when I had a bad allergic reaction she told the nurse all her own allergies and I had to be like mom were not blood related. the nurse had to get new forms.
