@thebeccamurray: officially on the hunt for my perfect pair of barrel leg pants (while these make it onto the “find it secondhand” list) the criteria is as follows: 1. barrel leg (duh) 2. FULL LENGTH not crop on my 33” inseam 3. if denim: non-stretch/rigid, or open to linen options 4. priority to size inclusive brands, but at minimum they must carry to size 18/2X 5. no shein #pants #tryon #size16 #size18 #barrelleg
hmmmm. my wardrobe is heavily gap/old navy and I've never had any item fall apart, ever.

Old Navy has really stepped up their game. They’re carrying a lot of 100% natural fiber pieces and the workout gear is holding up well.

Wait. You just opened my eyes to barrel leg jeans for me. When they’re on the gals without hips, they look like parenthesis and I cannot imagine even trying them on. But maybe they’re magic for me like they are on you!

Old navy falls apart? I second hand old navy and have had things for over a decade. I've never had an old navy item "fall apart". I have dresses and shorts that are 13+ years old with no issue.

Old Navy/Gap has stepped up the game for better quality. At least in pants. Shirts not so much. But I love their jeans and pants.

I haven’t had issues with my things from gap/old navy falling apart! I buy almost all of my clothing from old navy, on sale, because of budget and accessibility. I try to stick to their cotton/primarily cotton items, which they’ve more of recently, but I wear their stuff for years and years without an issue.

Barrel leg pants are everything we’ve wanted from “curvy” style pants. I’ve had success finding them secondhand on Poshmark. I would recommend looking for American Eagle’s barrel jeans, they’re my fa

so also, sorry but I'm commenting as I watch and I know that's awful... but i disagree that clothes fall apart before they get to second hand. I think people keep them.
and while they do have alot of the same styles year after year they don't do the same colors. so you won't find that color in that fit that is old. Just wear those. and keep them.

I love the Levi’s Baggy Dad Barrel Jeans. I’m a hippy/curvy size 10-12 and love the fit of the size 31, perfectly baggy and sit perfect.

I have also ended up in the Old Navy pipeline because they are the only ones giving us good Tall, plus, and extra high waisted options (extra long torso here). My Old Navy stuff has held up so much better than any of the other in person stores too, probably because of their increased use of natural fibers. I agree with people saying to dye the first pair to a color you’d use. A dark olive green could match a lot!

I still have Gap items from the 90's cause they don't fall apart and wash really well. They have always been a good quality brand to me

I get a ton of wear out of my Old Navy purchases, but I also always wash on cold and hang dry them. I’ve found that color fades out, but I’ll just do a round a dye every couple years. I have a few items that I’ve had for about 10 years now

Old navy/ gap natural fiber items are surprisingly good quality. I have a lot of dresses I wear year round that are cotton or linen and I just hang dry everything. I’ve had some for going on 5 years heavy rotation and they’re all holding on strong

believe it or not but this spring Old Navy had some soft and lovely cotton barrel leg pants. they are flowy like linen. Full length. They have side pockets. they went up to XXL. and they were very generously sized. I'm a 18, 5'7" and got a XL. The XXL was huge on me. You might be able find them on Vinted or Depop right away. Goodluck.

Hate to say it, if you can find the Gap easy horseshoe barrel leg jeans in XXL tall they fit all of your criteria. I have the XL regular and L tall and I’m a 12 and 5’10”. I love them a lot and I don’t shop fast fashion.

Just echoing all of the people saying that ime gap/old navy items generally last for years - even decades - if you treat them right 🤷🏼♀️and while they usually have the same/similar products in different seasons, but they usually change the colors, so trying to find them secondhand in a specific color from this season might be a fool’s errand. (And gap brands have sales so frequently that the price difference between new and secondhand is negligible anyway.)

Listen, fast fashion is a problem as an individual consumer if you treat it as such. I struggle with sizing (tall), so I buy a lot of clothes from Gap brands. I take care of what I buy (wash carefully, hang dry) and have had so many clothes made by these brands for nearly a decade.
