@bysarby_: links in bio check me out 😳 | AITA: I (34M) think my girlfriend (39F) will break up with me. AITA for setting a boundary? Is the relationship over? #sarby

I knew he was wrong as soon as he said something I did but didn’t tell us what it was said she threw the things she did for him and his face but also didn’t tell us what it was and then talked about a conversation they had but didn’t tell us what it was. You can’t ask us about a situation and then not give us details about the situation. It’s giving I don’t want y’all to know what I did just what she said.

Some people can’t drive bc of illnesses like me bc I faint but I will always offer to pay for the gas or pay for the food and also I never ask for money back if we have to take a uber bc I can’t drive

I almost bawled when I had to ask my friend for gas money so we could go pick up her neice. like actually almost cried over it because her neice thinks of me as an aunt too and that's my bestie. granted she had no problem giving me gas money but I still felt 🤏🏼 that big.

Positive relationships are about reciprocal energy. You surprise someone with a gift, they make you a special meal. They help you when your sick, you do their hair. The value isn't 1 to 1 but showing up for each other is the important part

I can't drive for reasons but I always make sure to pay for an Uber, gas, know. bus routes and live in an area where everything is walkable. Not being prepared and paying people who are willing to help is insane.

There is no "we" when it comes to a boundary. Its an "I". If your boundary is to make someone else do something thats not a boundary, thats control. It doesn't matter what it is, if its healthy or not. No one gets to make someone else do something in an adult relationship.

My partner drives us around most of the time. I CAN drive, I just don't like to, so I only do it if his car is unavailable. And even then, about half the time I just move the seat back and they drive my car😂
But it's also basically them paying me back because for the first half of our relationship, I was driving two hours(each way) to his place every weekend so we could be together, and then I moved to be closer to them.

I was in a relationship with my ex for four and a half years. He was mid to late twenties I was early twenties. And for almost the entirety of our relationship I was the only one driving. Which would have been fine except we lived in two different states and I had to drive over four and a half hours if I wanted to see him and because he didn't have a car and our license I was the only one ever making the journey. And the only one pulling out money for gas and car repairs because of the stress the drive was causing my car. When I finally got the courage to bring up the conversation of how unfair this was and how I couldn't keep doing it much longer was the only time that he actively went to get his license and a car. But even then he still wouldn't come visit me on his own. I was still the one doing a majority of the driving and the traveling to his state to see him. The only time he came to see me on his own was the week we broke up because I was again bringing up that conversation and he thought that if he came to see me for a week out of the four and a half years we were together it would make up for everything that was going on in that relationship. Not to mention since I was paying for my gas and car repairs he also wanted me to pay half of the other stuff we did travel-wise when we were going out wish I wouldn't have had problems with if he would pitch in like 5 to 10 dollars with gas but he wasn't giving me anything. And then getting upset with me when I told him I couldn't pay my half or we couldn't do that cuz I couldn't afford that and gas. Luckily to say I finally got my head out of my behind and cut it off with him the week he came to visit and been happy ever since and that was about a year and a half ago. Never again will I date a person who does not have a car or a license.

When my wife and I got together I didn’t drive. But it was because of medical reasons. Those resolved and now I am primary driver. But I legit could not drive at first. I would however take public transit to her office so I could spend time with her. So don’t accept no effort!

Literally something us afab folks are taught is to be able to drive so that we’re never dependent on someone else to live our lives. (Or at least the afab folks I know) I only don’t have my license because it took a backseat to health challenges that make driving difficult. (Pun kind of intended). He wants a chauffeur and it shows.
