He was surrendered because his family was having a baby, despite having grown up alongside their other children. Because he had never been socialized, the world felt scary to him. Strangers made him fearful, and his anxiety was so severe that car rides required sedation. When Jack came to us, we didn’t ask him to be brave or force him to trust us. We simply gave him time and space. Within just a few days, the dog who was too afraid to trust was climbing into our laps, asking for affection, and finally letting his guard down. After months of love, patience, and training, he learned to love car rides because they meant another adventure. He learned that new people could become friends. He learned what it felt like to belong, to be part of a family and a pack that loved him exactly as he was. And now, he has a family of his very own. The kind of people who will love every part of him and every chapter of his story. And as if that wasn’t enough, he gained a new bff—Skye, who already adores him. There are no words for the feeling of watching a dog who once lost everything, gain a life more beautiful than we could have ever imagined for him. Go live, sweet boy.
