y'all heard of same sans theory, but what about same gaster theory. When Noelle and Susie get on the Ferris wheel at the festival, Kris remembers that last year someone else used to run said Ferris wheel. Once more, toriel's wall paper shows Kris sitting on a man's lap(a man in which Kris doesn't recognise). There are two potential reasons for this being related to gaster, the first being that when his soul split across space and time, flickers of his existence from undertale can be seen in alternate universes like deltarune. Alternatively, the deltarune universe could have its own version of the core that's on the other side of the lake. Considering we know gaster has the engineering capabilities to build the core, he could have easily built the Ferris wheel we see at the festival. Besides, hometown has to get their energy from somewhere, and what better place to build a massive generator of electricity(that can easily overheat) than near a body of water like the lake. Therefore, flickers of gaster's existence in deltarune appear in undertale.
