1995 a heatwave came in to the northwest, thousands of people passed away in Wisconsin and Illinois, they were giving free air conditioners out in Chicago, so let's not pretend this is anything new

They have laws that prevent AC units being installed in a lot of places. Because the electrical grid can't support it....they would need to completely revamp their electrical grid in many of the places in order for everybody to have an air conditioning unit.

The 2, 1,500 watt ac units I have by basic math use less energy than the 4, 1,800 watt space heaters and 6 chords of wood I burn every winter to heat my home that was made in 1945. (It’s paid for on 10 acres by the way)

Most of us can’t get ac in our houses because we live in historical old medieval cities and to put an ac it needs to be hidden and not show on the facade of an historical building or sometimes drilling holes in the wall to put the cables to link the ac ventilation to the engine can cause structural problems in the walls of those historical houses and also electricity is very expensive in Europe and taxes

Here in Europe, we do have AC. The only countries where it's probably not that common are Germany, France, and the UK.
