Yeah, he pretty much did the right thing in the way he reacted to everything past the initial question. Only thing I would say he did wrong was pushing her away "for her relationship sake" like if you're uncomfortable with what's happening thats a good enough reason to pull back, but don't make that decision claiming it's for them
