“Just wait til you have the baby you won’t care about the dogs anymore.” - Non-dog-loving people. I was nervous about becoming a human mom- I loved the life I had created & was worried what it would look like after having a child & didn’t want me whole identity to become “mom.” And I definitely didn’t want to stop loving my dogs. For those who are also nervous- here’s what my life actually looks like after 2 years in: I still love my dogs. The dogs helped me sooo much specially getting outside postpartum. I still have hobbies and goals and adventures... I just have a little best friend joining me for them now 👶🏻 I’ve taken my son hiking, biking, running, and on adventures I never imagined we’d share. Somehow, becoming a mom didn’t make me less myself, in fact I think it made me a cooler human 😂 And yes, I know I’m lucky. I have support, and I know not everyone has that. But I also think it’s important to remember that motherhood doesn’t have to fit one mold.
