The visit commemorates the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and France. The royal couple arrived in Paris on 28 June, accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya. They were officially welcomed by the French government before attending state events in Paris. On 29 June, President Emmanuel Macron hosted Their Majesties at the Élysée Palace for official engagements and a state dinner, highlighting the strong and longstanding friendship between the two nations. The visit also includes cultural events celebrating Thai heritage and aims to further strengthen cooperation between Thailand and France in areas such as diplomacy, culture, trade, innovation, and education. It is the first state visit by a Thai monarch to France in 66 years, following the visit of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit in 1960.
