@middletonbooks: Science-fiction doesn’t have to mean spaceships and laser guns. These five books prove it - aliens landing in medieval Europe, English knights accidentally conquering an interstellar empire, a planet where your nightmares physically manifest. The Middle Ages and science fiction shouldn’t work together, but somehow they do. Want more medieval science-fiction? I love Book of the new sun so much but I think for future reader you might have say too much about it in my opinion, other than that good selection :)

David Drakes Ranks of Bronze isnt medieval it's ancient Roman but it's sequel by David Weber The Excalibur alternative IS. they're both about aliens abducting low tech human fighters to fight in wars against other low tech worlds to bring them into a galactic union.

I need more!!!! tons more!! this should be such a bigger surgery or genre of its own! idk why more writers dont do this. like magic and what not being real in a post-apocalyptic future or simply and standard fantasy realm that has just advanced of thousands of years to be a bit techy and still have majority fantasy vibes

Wait, High Crusade was a book? I'm going to assume it's not as comedic as the movie

Two series from Christopher Stasheff - The Warlock in Spite of Himself and Her Majesty's Wizard. Both excellent; I prefer the first.

Woah black sun rising kind of reminds me of a book I read. Beyond Redemption i think? It also tackled the idea of beliefs shaping reality
