So you're saying it's my responsibility to ensure the mechanic does their job correctly? If I don't speak up, their attempt to fix my alignment could actually destroy my steering rack instead. This shouldn't be considered normal practice. It's time mechanics are held financially accountable for their own mistakes and poor decisions.

The alignment guy can release the front clip on the rubber coat before and replace it after his work just to avoid the coat getting torn simple.

common sense should tell a mechanic to loosen the clip before adjusting for alignment. After that simply tight the clip back on.
