the fact is that we are improbable. comparing the estimated lifetime of the universe to the chances of life, we should have never, ever come to be. and not just this, but there's things like life not coming from the inanimate, or something not being able to come from nothing. the point is that it's more likely to believe a creator did it than not, and it isn't based on shock factor.

We shouldn’t not celebrate our existence because it could be equally possible of a metaphysical purpose?

yes but the point is that we won that lottery and we are blessed to be here, i like thid arguement but you should listen to what cliffe has to say on the fine tuning arguement he explains it better

Scientists still don't accept our existence and life as just a lucky coincidence because it's still astronomically low. It's like throwing a million cards in the air and expecting them to land on the ground and you'll get the same number everywhere.

You just dropped a masterclass in cosmic skepticism while wandering around in rdr2. The lottery analogy is spot on, we are just the lucky ticket holders thinking the casino was built specifically for us.

It’s so stupid because it treats the universe’s constants as if they were randomly chosen from a cosmic lottery. There is no evidence that they were chosen at all, or that they could have been different, everything is contingent and deterministic, but all that proves is that the universe has an origin or repeating cycle. The universe has the values necessary for it to exist as it does, and of course conscious beings can only observe a universe capable of producing them. It’s like Saying “if the laws of physics were different, the universe would be different” is obvious, and it’s not evidence for God.

Although I agree part of it can be coughed up to confirmation bias the reason why the fine tuning argument holds up so well is because its not the single set of chance that occurred for us to exist, its the fact it happened multiple times. Take for example your lottery ticket idea. Say I win the lottery. Im now convinced im lucky. Say I win it again, then again, and several hundred times again. Im now looking at all these other chances where I was chosen over and over again, yet I am told its all confirmation bias? Which part of that process was confirmation bias? Where I witnessed a perfect roll again and again? Or was it that singular roll? The point is the confirmation bias argument does not really hold up well when you see the extreme odds for just one of these events to exist. Statistically our existence is near zero, not even looking at the odds of life in a infinite universe.
