I am from Greece and I visited Australia during December-January (Australian summer ☺️) and I was expecting a similar nightlife since the sun was so hot during the day. I was so surprised everyone was gone and everything was closed after 18:00!

Mediterranean countries have siesta in the middle of the day because it’s too hot. So it makes sense every activity is moved to later in the evening and night when it’s cooler

We used to go for dinner at 11.30 pm, u couldn’t find a table to sit, all the platies (town squares), are chock full of people. We live in Sydney & holiday in Greece, Greek islands & Cyprus every few years.
