I think she also was bitter towards Annesha because Devi thought that the reason behind her unpopularity with boys, friends, etc… was because she was Indian and people didn’t accept her because of that. But when she saw that another Indian girl came to school and became popular so quickly made her realize that she couldn’t excuse her unpopularity with being Indian, and it really had to do with just her, and that made her reevaluate herself
