he wakes up at 2 am. he receives a notification. he doesn't want to open it since he wants to go back to sleep, but he opens it. that gesture saved his heart from the pain of not opening it. it's his girlfriend, the message says "I can't do it anymore. I love you". he jolts awake, rereading their message, not knowing how much time he has left until she leaves. he puts on his shirt while getting on his shoes. no driving license, no car, no one to call at that hour so he sprints. he sprints like he never did before, every minute counting. scared of losing his love, his half of the heart. every memory flooding back. from them at the beach where they had so much fun up to last Christmas where they shared gifts with one another up to them watching the sunrise last sunday. remembering her eyes, her green, brightful eyes while embracing each other in a hug while saying in unison "I love you" he runs faster. faster than ever. not caring that his feet are hurting, not caring that he might collapse from not having enough time to take a breath. he wants her. he manages to get to her house. the house dark. he breaks the door like a wild man searching for her, searching every corner, every room, until he finds her room. he breaks the door, finding her on the chair ready to do it. he grabs her from the chair, embracing her like she might dissapear, crying with whatever he has left. she was crying too, her eyes bloodshot, while saying "I didn't want to make you sad, but life pushed me to an edge. I'm sorry". while he hugs her, he says "I know life may have been hard, but don't forget you have me by your side and we can push through everything together. I don't want to lose the one that pushed me to become better, the one that was with me through bad and good, the one that cared for me, loved me, worried for me, got sick because of me and the one that made me start to love myself. I love you". in the end, however hard you're life may be, you can always have someone to push through life with you. no matter who it is. a lover, a family member, a friend
