master screen printer of 15 years here. would not ever recommend acetone to fix cracks. you can use a iron to apply pressure and heat to reseal it together. Most ink prints are glycol(type of oil byproduct) based and will deteriorate if acetone is applied. if your shirts are cracking shortly after buying them it means they werent properly cured because they never reached the temp it was supposed to when in production. most inks cure inbetween 290 and 320. So using a iron and wax paper without water should help reseal the cracks and cure the ink properly. any shirt past 5 years is normal wear and tear.

I uses to work at a printshop, we used acetone in jet sprays to fix smears out of line cuz it removes like an eraser.

Aren't you supposed to spray it then iron it over with baking parchment so that it evaporates quick enough for it to be stable?

if the image cracks the ink wasn't dried properly in the first place by the print shop.
