Yes correct. Interceptive orthodontics at a young age to control jaw grow and tooth position. Treatment then continues when all adult teeth are present. Children’s teeth/bone are much more receptive the younger they are. Unfortunately NHS does not cover this for everyone due to cost involved, and it’s primarily a private treatment option. Also UK children have poor oral health making many not suitable for this type of treatment at a young age

I asked for my 8 year old as his front teeth are happy and was told it’s ideal to have gaps at that age for space when they get the bigger teeth so it adds up after hearing this 🤣

This is called interceptive treatment🙂 they use the expander for a while to create space (sometimes they will still have baby teeth to), have a break and come back a year or two later to see if they still need orthodontic treatment. Not every child needs this, most do have to wait till they are older to start ortho treatment.

I had to have 4 teeth removed, 2 on the top 2 on the bottom and omg it was bad, have had my braces on for 3 years now
