@naturalvsconvenience: I used to think I couldn't afford to change the way my family lived. Looking back, I don't think I could afford not to. For years I believed the cheapest supermarket trolley, the fast food run and the endless "specials" were saving us money. It wasn't until we stopped looking at one shopping receipt and started looking at our entire lifestyle that everything changed. We bought fewer products, fewer clothes and far less rubbish. We simplified our home, stopped chasing convenience and started valuing quality over quantity. The unexpected part wasn't just feeling healthier... it was discovering we had more time, more money and less stress than we'd had in years. I lost around 20 kilos without following a fad diet or living in the gym. We reclaimed hundreds of hours every year that used to disappear in supermarkets, shopping centres and takeaway lines. The biggest lesson wasn't that organic living changed our health. It was realising we'd been calculating the cost of living completely wrong. I'm not saying everyone has to live the way we do. I'm simply sharing what happened when our family finally stopped asking, "What's cheapest today?" and started asking, "What's actually costing us the most?" What change has made the biggest difference in your life? #FYP #foryoupage #viral #natural #HealthyLifestyle

Could you share some of your swaps? Clothes brands you recommend? Anything would be helpful, somewhere for me to start.

Threw out most plastic we used last week. Threw away half my polyester clothing (need time for the rest). Threw away my pillow few months ago and been sleeping a lot better. Also changed about 1/3 of my bed sheets to pure cotton. Definetly helps. Bought natural toothbrushes today. Switched all my coated pans to stainless steel ones. No more plastic kitchen tools either. Cleaned up our Diet a little as well (already ate quite clean) Switched from fabric softener to vinegar as well. Quite a way to go but the beginning is there

I stopped eating processed foods. Only organic, lots more home-made cooking. With what I wear slowly trying to build up clothes only made from what you said.. Very expensive with changing wardrobe though. Will do it slowly when I can afford.

spot on...perfect...natural fabrics are the best & they last much much longer with proper care. - do you make your own ferments and eat them everyday?😁

I realised this too and changed my shopping and eating habits drastically for myself and my family. I actually spend a lot less on shopping than I used to, rarely buy snack things because with the meals I make now we don't need snacks. I'm no longer driven by wanting stuff, haven't bought new clothes in over a year because I don't need them yet.
I have been over a 100 kilos for the last 6 years and now it is slowly dropping off, i am not going to the gym although I am working in my garden more. I am below a 100 now for the first time in years and feel great. My brain even works better, I look forward to waking up on a morning and don't just lay in bed until lunchtime wishing my day away. I used to be at the Drs most weeks and for a period of time it was multiple times a week. I have been hospitalised nunerous time for stress because they couldn't find anything else physically wrong with me. I have not been to the drs now for almost 2 years. I have less of an income than most of the people in my family but seem to manage with my bills and shopping and things better than most of them. I tell them its because I no longer want "stuff" stuff I don't need or can't actually use.
I'm rambling again, thank you for your posts x
