I read somewhere that each season was a stage of grief for Carmy when it came to dealing with Mikey’s death… Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. Makes sense why it was only 5 seasons and why Carmy seemed to change in every season according to the stage he’s on… and even though in season 5, he starts to spiral into depression again (when he accidentally dropped the dish), his friends and family pull him out and assure him that they are there for him. Damn I love this show!

Every relationship for mike was a mirror, he was living through these people because he had given up on himself. He never found a way to forgive himself and start living his own life. Guy deserved better, he did so much good though without anyone knowing before meeting his end.
