Batman Begins is easily better than TDK, and it's the best Batman movie to date.

Leaving Interstellar out of your top 10 is just pure engagement farming, respect for The Prestige at 2 tho

The Prestige is #1 because it is by far the best written and the most interesting of Nolan’s oeuvre.

Of topic, I’m genuinely extremely concerned for the odyssey, I don’t have faith that Nolan has done the original epic poem justice, from the trailers it feels like he wanted to make an Iliad film but realised that’s been done to death already. Also, because of how he writes his female characters , I think he is just going to miss the point of many of the female characters…

Tenet I can just rewatch and rewatch and rewatch, it’s sooo good!!! I feel like it’s kind of underrated or overhated(?) because it’s even more confusing and complicated than Inception on first watch

The Prestige is arguably his most emotional film - if you’re not manipulated by McConaughey’s blubbing in interstellar

I could not agree with you more, it is a beautiful movie that is shot even more incredibly. But I’ve genuinely never understood the hype past those two points.

my one issue with Dunkirk is that the beaches aren't crowded/chaotic enough. I think Atonement does a great job of capturing that chaos

oppenheimer at 1 is just perfect. ive watched it thrice and its godly. it is the culmination of everything nolan is really. and while i dont feel what you feel for interstellar,i understand you viscerally.

Inception changed films for me. I would swap Oppenheimer with Inception on your list. The Dark Knight has one of the greatest, if not the best, openings to a film, of all time. So deserves top 5 alone.

I think Interstellar is too self-indulgent. I understood the hype at first watch but the more you watch it and the more you see his other films you realise it's not that special.

Bro, I follow you because you have intellectual honesty and the ability to make powerful arguments. I think we’re almost the same age, and I wanted to explain my point of view about something. To me, films and movies are different things. Christopher Nolan makes films, not just movies. He tries to reach us on levels that you—and most of us—can’t even imagine. Sometimes we need time to process what he’s trying to say. Try watching the film one more time. Watch it alone, at night, with no distractions. Feel Hans Zimmer’s score. Try to connect the dialogue with the music and the emotions. It’s not just about an interstellar journey. At its core, it’s about a father’s love. We need that kind of love today more than ever. Try to pay attention to the dialogue between Cooper and Donald, and really feel it. I know it’s science fiction, but in some ways, parts of it could happen within our lifetime—maybe not in exactly the same way, but from a different perspective. Give it one more chance. The Prestige also moved up on my list after I watched it again. That’s one of the reasons I kept encouraging you to give Interstellar another chance. One more thing: I saw Interstellar in theaters, and the experience was incredible. Hans Zimmer’s score, the performances, and seeing it all on the big screen… it was absolutely unforgettable.
