One of the Òrìṣà stories that makes you sit there like… girl, WHAT?! 😭 In this telling, Ọbà loved Ṣàngó so deeply that after advice from Ọya, she cut off her own ear and prepared it for him hoping to secure his love. Instead, Ṣàngó rejected her. And underneath all the drama is a lesson I can’t stop thinking about: How much of yourself will you sacrifice just to be chosen? Jealousy. Competition. Love. Devotion. Manipulation. Rejection. Consequences.
