It’s bairstows own fault but it’s also incredibly cheap. He’s not trying to gain an advantage here so imo a better group of lads would withdraw the appeal. It’s not the way anyone is taught to play cricket

The ball is still live - you don't just walk out of your crease as soon as the ball goes past you. You wait for the umpire to call over.

If there is anyone who knows American Baseball: Is this basically the same thing as a base runner assuming a hit was a foul ball (dead ball), stepping off the base and the ball being thrown to the bag and the runner being tagged out?
