I agree with almost everything you said except the end. If you said "what do you got?" I'd consider passing on you as a candidate. Try using "can you tell me about your benefit package" as an alternative.

I purposely threw in a high number of, because they expressed a high interest in. It seem that killed it - because negotiations went silent , that means they wanted higher standard with the lowest possible pay
