Idk why u didnt just charge more or leave at 8:00. If u signed a legal contract saying that u would be at the house until 8:00, and the parents aren’t home by then, u have no legal responsibility over their kids.

This is why my friend has an agreement that parents sign before she babysits. Includes pay/timeframe for child care/ fees for emergency situations where she might have to stay longer. And yes a huge fee for staying overnight. And it even says that if any conditions are violated she will call police/child services. She had to take a couple to court once to get her $. Judge 100% agreed and made parents pay bc of her agreement/contract.
