Joshua Benson :
We were made to evolve. It’s called the great plan for a reason, and it was his plan from the beginning. There cannot be growth without failure.. to grow greatly you must be willing to fail. It has always been his plan.

The Garden of Eden can be understood as the place where humanity was given a genuine choice. Even if God knew what Adam and Eve would choose, that knowledge does not necessarily mean He forced their choice. They still made the decision themselves. In this view, the Garden was the setting in which human free will, obedience, and responsibility could be exercised.

Imagine a father raises his son well. He teaches him right from wrong, provides everything he needs, and tells him, "You can go anywhere in this house, but don't open this one door because it will bring harm."
The father knows his son well enough to suspect he might become curious, but he doesn't lock the door because he wants his son to obey out of trust, not because he has no choice.
One day, a friend comes over and says, "Your father is just trying to control you. Open the door you'll be fine." The son chooses to ignore his father's warning and opens it.
Who is responsible? The father, who gave a clear instruction and freedom to choose? Or the son, who knowingly disobeyed?
That's similar to Adam and Eve. God gave them everything they needed, one command, and the freedom to obey or disobey. Without the ability to choose, obedience would have been meaningless. Love and loyalty are genuine only when they are freely given.

my problem is this. Did God inform them that there is something know as Satan roaming in the garden? Did Adam and Eve know how satan looked like?

Imagine a teacher who gives students an exam. The teacher already knows, from experience, that some students will fail. Yet the teacher still gives the exam—not because the teacher wants them to fail, but because the exam gives each student a real opportunity to succeed and demonstrates their own choices and effort. If there were no exam, there would be no meaningful way to distinguish between those who studied and those who did not.

Ans:
1. God's original intention for Adam and Eve was that they live in obedience, enjoy fellowship with Him, and steward creation in the Garden of Eden.
2. The plan did fail but humanityfailed.

judge a man by his questions, not answers. my understanding is that the entire story is a metaphor, it's adapted from other religions in mesopotamia which have older versions of the Same story in more ancient religions in the area.
